One of Carpe Nocturne Magazine’s most popular features over the years when the publication was a monthly magazine was a feature known as GOTH OF THE MONTH. However, with the rebirth and return of Carpe Nocturne Magazine as a Quarterly Publication (every 3 months), we are able to expand and offer more pages, more coverage, more pictures, interviews, stories and, best of all, more beauty! However, as a Quarterly, we can’t call the feature “Goth of the Month” any more. So, we decided to expand the feature and simply call it DARK FASHIONS!
In the new DARK FASHIONS Feature, instead of 1 woman or man per month, we will Feature one with a pictorial, interview and information and spotlight at least 2 others with basic information and at least 1 picture. Additionally, we will expand on the DARK FASHIONS Feature to cover related events and occasionally fashion tips, interviews with designers, creators and others as well.
Last but not least, we came to the realization that “Goth of the Month” wasn’t the best name for the feature anyway. Why? Because we felt it excluded a lot of people who actually qualified to be featured but didn’t. The New Dark Culture isn’t blindly “Gothic.” It is very diverse and covers a wide range of fashion statements and styles such as Gothic/Victorian, Industrial/Rivithead, Steam Punk, Punk & Post Punk, as well as Cyber and select Fetish Fashion areas.
No Experience Necessary! Carpe Nocturne Magazine is always seeking Models, Aspiring Models and even people who just love to dress up for this very fashionable scene and culture. All ages (though under 16 needs parent approval) and any location around the world is welcome to apply and be considered to be seen in the pages of Carpe Nocturne Magazine’s DARK FASHION Feature (Formerly Known As Goth of the Month).
Almost anyone qualifies to be considered as a Featured or Spotlighted model. No modeling experience is required. This is a volunteer gig and not a paid situation. As long as you live, love have some involvement in the scene and culture as a fan, a DJ, Musician, or even a model, you pretty much qualify!
Here’s the Official Qualifications:
• Any Location In The World! You can be from anywhere!
• Age 16 and Older – Under 16 requires a parental approval.
• No Nudity, Sexual Poses, and not any unnecessary exposure of any “private parts.”
• You must dress within the Gothic / Victorian / Darkwave / Industrial / Steam Punk / Punk or Renaissance Type Fashion or attire
• You must downlad the Model Information and Questionnaire (Located at bottom of page)
• You must read the information and then complete and return the questionnaire.
• Along with the questionnaire, you must submit 6 to 12 Photos (Don’t have to be pro shoots)
• At that point, the information you provide on the questionnaire and your photos will be reviewed for consideration.
• Then, be patient! Sometimes it takes time.
If you are selected to be Featured or Spotlighted, you will be notified by E-mail or Phone (more than likely by e-mail) and you will be asked if you are still interested. You can refuse at that point if you are no longer interested. However, if you accept, we may ask for more pics or information, though if you provide good info on your questionnaire and a number of good pics, this will not be necessary. Once your selection is finalized and you give us your permission to run with it, you will then appear in an upcoming issue of Carpe Nocturne Magazine.
